Programme overview
We are researching how specialist AI assistants can participate in business processes under human oversight. The Enterprise Agentic Runtime approach calls for explicit tasks, permissions and resource limits, with consequential actions open to review and reversal. This is an active research direction.
- Record workflow steps and rules in definitions called FlowDefs
- Set explicit limits on each assistant’s tools, budget and decision authority

What we plan to evaluate
Define the process explicitly
Workflow definitions, called FlowDefs, record the steps, rules and dependencies of HR, finance or support processes. Our goal is to make the state of each step observable.
Give each AI specialist a defined responsibility
Define which tools an assistant may use, how much it may spend and which decisions require approval. We call this authority framework an autonomy contract.
Enterprise Agentic Runtime
Research a shared environment for assistants and workflows that coordinates permissions, approvals, action records and the ability to reverse consequential actions.
