Canvas and Layers
The canvas is where everything lives. You can pan, zoom, draw, and drop items while overlays keep extra tools nearby.
- Moving around: Hold space or use the mouse wheel to pan and zoom. The zoom toolbar lets you reset view or fit to content.
- Background: Toggle grid/lines or switch to a clean background. You can also pick a background color if you need contrast for presentations.
- Drawing & erasing: Pen and highlighter modes let you sketch freehand. Switch to eraser mode to clean strokes without touching nodes. Modes are toggled from the toolbar.
- Selections & context menu: Click or marquee-select items; right-click to open the canvas menu for copy, paste, delete, and alignment helpers.
- Guides & layout: Alignment guides appear when objects line up. You can snap items into frames or grids to keep things tidy.
- Overlays: Kanban, backlog, roadmap, tasks, and comments appear as overlays pinned to the canvas position you opened them from. They move with your zoom/pan so you don’t lose context.
- Copy/paste: Use standard shortcuts to duplicate selections. “Copy as image/SVG” is available from the menu for sharing snapshots.
Typical flow: drag a node from the palette → drop on canvas → connect with edges → open overlays (tasks, comments, kanban) to add context.
